A Design System is an implementation of design tokens that can be shared across teams and projects to simplify design and development while ensuring consistent brand experiences, at scale.

I this hands-on meetup we'll learn what a design system is and how to implement it in React using Styled System. With Styled System we can create variants using props that pick up values from a global theme.

45-minute lecture and 75-minute exercise approx. Attendees will be encouraged to do pair programming during the exercise

Some experience in React and Styled Components
Computer with git and Node version >= 8 installed

Why do we charge a nominal fee?

We charge a nominal fee for community events in order to confirm attendance to ensure we have an accurate RSVP list. Our meetups are always over-subscribed so when people don't show it stops somone else attending.
