ReactJS is a bit of a paradigm shift of what most devs are used to,it's very declarative and functional. The goal of the session will be to start "thinking in React". There will be a 45 minutes talk about how to use React, and then attendees will have 1.5 hours to solve a challenge (we encourage you to do pair programming to solve the exercise). There will be mentors to answer questions during the practice session.

Why do we charge a nominal fee?
We charge a nominal fee for community events in order to confirm attendance to ensure we have an accurate RSVP list. Our meetups are always over-subscribed so when people don't show it stops somone else attending.
The payment confirmation email is your ticket. If you can't attend simply let us know and we'll be happy to refund you.
